Event Theme

More than one American Jewish historian has pondered: when future generations look back at the Jewish experience in America, what will they most admire as the greatest achievement of American Jewry? And more than one has concluded: American Jewry’s literary heritage!

Questions to Ponder

- What is it about Jewish life in America that causes American Jewish authors to create such memorable stories and novels?

- What does American Jewish literature tell us about being Jews?

- What does it tell us about being Americans?
