The Bible as Literature

This class session will examine the biblical book of Jonah as a short story, read through the lens of literary criticism. We will see how the author of this  literary masterpiece structures plot, character, symbolism, and narrative technique to raise profound and difficult questions that at the same time confirm and challenge the reader’s deepest held beliefs.
